Caxton College Music School

Our Pupils

Aimed at students from Caxton College and other schools from the age of 3.

Group and Private Lessons

We aim to develop their imagination, creativity and personal growth in a positive environment, both on an individual and collective level.

Percussion

Percussion

Drums and percussion are taught in groups of 2 to 3 students from Primary or Secondary. They learn through playing pieces from different musical eras and with a variety of rhythms and techniques.

Wind

Wind

Groups of up to 3 pupils learn to play the flute or saxophone through a repertoire based on both classical and modern music.

String

String

Pupils learn to play the double bass, electric bass, Spanish and electric guitar, piano and keyboard or violin through classical and modern pieces in groups of up to 3. Students who wish to obtain a certificate may opt for ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) Piano or Guitar lessons.

Fun with Music

The aim of this activity for children in Reception and Year 1 is to initiate them into the world of music with a methodology based on play, movement and creativity.

Voice

Voice

Groups of 2 to 3 students learn to sing a repertoire ranging from classical music to current pop rock songs.

Musical Language and Culture

Musical Language and Culture

Musical Culture is for students interested in the history of music, improving their listening ability and learning about the most influential musicians and composers of each era. In Musical Language, students will learn musical theory and notation, as well as strengthen listening skills. Students who wish to obtain a certificate may opt for ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) Theory lessons.

Musical Groups

Musical Groups

In the Creative Music and Introduction to Jazz Workshop or the Pop-Rock Workshop, students may play their instrument in collaboration with other pupils and the instructor. The Creative Music and Introduction to Jazz Workshop will centre on musical invention, improvisation and harmony, whilst the Pop-Rock Workshop will consist of playing their favourite songs, arranged by the instructor.

Carla Balaguer - Piano instructor with a masters degree in Music Therapy

Exams

We prepare our students in ABRSM groups for the official exams to obtain these internationally recognised certificates.

Additional Activities

Concerts, exchanges, technique perfection workshops, collaboration with the Palau de la Música in Valencia, overnight trips, music camps and more.
