Our Music School Coordinator Premieres His Work at the Palau de la Música

At Caxton College, we are thrilled and extremely proud to have teaching staff of extraordinary quality who, in addition to their teaching roles, bring talent and passion to their disciplines.

The coordinator of our Music School, Antonio Gómez Schneekloth, is a perfect example. On 2 March, he will premiere his Triple Concerto for Clarinet, Cello, and Piano in the Sala Rodrigo at the Palau de la Música in Valencia, a piece that pays tribute to the city and its most iconic tradition: the Fallas festivals.

Commissioned by the Palau itself, the Triple Concerto is conceived as a celebration of the friendship between the composer and the three soloists who will perform it: David Apellániz (cello), Luis Fernández Castelló (clarinet), and Carlos Apellániz (piano). A large group of musicians from the Orquesta de València, directed by Maestro Nacho de Paz, will accompany them in this eagerly awaited premiere.

Antonio Gómez Schneekloth has explained that the work subtly and almost imperceptibly incorporates passages inspired by the sonic heritage of the Fallas festivals, offering a tribute to the city of Valencia and this magnificent musical event that attracts thousands of people from around the world each year.

The concert is part of an eclectic programme that includes works by renowned composers such as Heinrich I. F. Biber (Battalia à 10), Charles Ives (The Unanswered Question), and Igor Stravinsky (Pulcinella Suite No. 1). The evening promises to be a musical journey combining tradition, modernity, and the unique talent of our artists.

The Caxton College community celebrates this achievement as an inspiring example for our students and families, highlighting the school’s commitment to educational and cultural excellence.

Don't miss the chance to experience this fantastic premiere!

The concert will take place on 2 March at 7:00pm in the Sala Rodrigo at the Palau de la Música in Valencia. Tickets are available at this link.
